Description

The liquid does half the work. You take all the credit.

Advance Plus pours violet and cures clear — a five-minute bead with room to place, shape, and correct before it locks. Strong adhesion, low odor, and a formula built to resist yellowing, so the set that leaves your chair still looks like your work three weeks later.

HEMA-free. DMPT-free. MMA-free. Made in the USA.

HOW TO USE IT

Prep the natural nail, dehydrate, and prime. Pour only what you'll use into a clean dappen dish. Work a medium-wet bead and let it settle before you push it — Advance Plus self-levels, so patience does the shaping for you. Give it about five minutes to set, cap the free edge, and file once fully cured. Pairs with every Hey Beautiful acrylic and cover powder.

HANDLING & SAFETY

This is a professional product. We removed HEMA, DMPT, and MMA to make Advance Plus one of the best clean formulas on the market — but no acrylic monomer is risk-free, and this one is still classified as a skin and respiratory irritant. Gloves on, ventilation open, keep it off skin. Store it cool, sealed, and out of direct sunlight. Our full Safety Data Sheet is available any time you want it.

WHY IT EARNS ITS SPOT ON YOUR STATION

Because you shouldn't have to choose between a liquid that behaves and a liquid you can breathe. Advance Plus gives you a forgiving five-minute bead, adhesion that holds through the wear cycle, and a violet-tinted formula that resists yellowing — without HEMA, DMPT, or MMA. Cleaner chemistry, professional performance, no trade-off.

ARIA — OUR SIGNATURE SCENT

Rose, lychee, and a soft wood undertone. Aria is the scent our stores are known for, and it's blended into Advance Plus at a trace level.

Being straight with you: this is still monomer, and it still smells like monomer. Aria doesn't cover that. What it does is take the sharp edge off — a softer, warmer note underneath, so the air at your station is easier to sit in through a full day of sets.

Key Ingredients

Ethyl Methacrylate (EMA)

The core of the formula. EMA replaces older MMA-based liquids with a softer, lower-odor acrylic base that still delivers strong, durable enhancements.

PEG-4 Dimethacrylate

A crosslinking agent that helps the acrylic cure into a firm, resilient structure — part of what gives Advance Plus its durability set after set.

Hydroxypropyl Methacrylate

Works alongside EMA to strengthen adhesion to the natural nail. This is a HEMA-free formula — HPMA is a different methacrylate, not HEMA.

HYDROXYETHYL METHYLTOLYLAMINE

The accelerator that controls set time, replacing older DMPT-based formulas. This is what makes Advance Plus DMPT-free.

Hydroquinone & P-Hydroxyanisole

Stabilizers that keep the monomer shelf-stable in the bottle, preventing premature curing before you're ready to use it.

DROMETRIZOLE (UV STABILIZER)

Protects the formula from UV light, so it won't yellow with age. Whites stay white, clears stay clear.

CI 60725 / VIOLET 2 (NON-YELLOWING TINT)

The reason the liquid pours violet. Violet sits opposite yellow on the color wheel, working against the warm cast that causes acrylic to yellow with age — and it cures completely clear.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can your monomer be used with other acrylic powders?

Yes. Many professionals do. However, we recommend pairing it with Hey Beautiful acrylic powders because they are chemically formulated to work as a complete system. Our monomers and powders are developed together to maintain optimal balance, improve retention, and deliver consistent performance from application to wear. It’s not about selling more—it’s about reducing variables. At the end of the day, it’s pure chemistry.

What is acrylic monomer used for?

Acrylic monomer is the liquid component used with acrylic powder to create a durable, sculptable nail enhancement. When combined, the two form a strong polymer that hardens as it sets, creating long-lasting artificial nails.

Why does using the same brand monomer and powder matter?

Using a matched system helps reduce variables. Our monomers and powders are developed together to support better retention, predictable set times, smoother application, and overall performance stability. This isn’t about selling more—it’s about chemistry.

Does monomer affect retention and lifting?

More than most techs realize. A balanced monomer bonds better and lifts less — but prep still does half the work. Advance Plus does the other half.

Is your monomer MMA or EMA based?

EMA. No methyl methacrylate — MMA doesn't belong on a natural nail, and it's restricted for nail use in a number of states.

Is your monomer suitable for all climates?

Yes. While temperature and humidity always play a role in acrylic application, our monomer is formulated to perform reliably across a wide range of salon environments.

Where is your monomer made?

Made in the USA, in small controlled batches so what you get in July behaves like what you got in March.

Is your monomer beginner-friendly or professional only?

It is designed for professional use but appreciated by both experienced techs and advancing beginners due to its balance, stability, and ease of control.

Does acrylic monomer cause cancer?

There is no scientific evidence showing that professional EMA-based acrylic monomer causes cancer when used properly. Modern salon monomers are regulated and designed for professional cosmetic use.

Is it safe to work with monomer while pregnant?

We're not able to give medical guidance on this. Acrylic monomer is a flammable, respiratory-irritant product intended for professional use with gloves and ventilation — we'd recommend talking to your doctor about workplace exposure during pregnancy.

As always, consult your healthcare provider for personal medical guidance.

What does Advance Plus Monomer smell like?

Lower odor, with a soft trace of Aria, our signature scent. EMA monomers run considerably softer on the nose than older MMA-based liquids — Aria takes the edge off what's left.
